While Universal Monsters Universe begins to wrap up its “March of Mummies” themed coverage regarding the bandaged creature, we’re not completely finished with our The Mummy news for the month. This March saw the casting of Annabelle Wallis, Jake Johnson, and Marwan Kenzari in addition to the already cast Tom Cruise and Sofia Boutella. Filming is set to begin this spring with locations in the United Kingdom and Malta having already been scouted. But that’s not where news on the Alex Kurtzman directed The Mummy stops. Things are heating up courtesy of a few great tweets by the hair and makeup artist on the film, Elizabeth Georgiou.

The Mummy looks to be an amazing movie from everything we know so far about it, especially with the impressively talented and inspired cast and crew. We previously wrote about Lizzie Georgiou and how she said The Mummy “looks awesome.” We’ve been following her tweets and while she’s bound to secrecy as she works on this current project, it is fun for us and fans to get whatever insight we can into the resurrection of one of Universal’s most beloved of monsters.
Also, Annabelle Wallis posted this on her Instagram:
annabellewallis Very excited to be joining this incredible group of people.#TheMummy #TomCruise and Belle’s xx
Universal Monsters Universe is excited too and stay tuned for more information as its uncovered and announced; and give Lizzie Georgiou a follow.
The Mummy opens June 9, 2017.
