The first The Mummy set photos are finally upon us and Universal Monsters Universe has them. The images courtesy of WENN and reported first on SuperHeroHype feature stars Tom Cruise and Annabelle Wallis filming a scene for Alex Kurtzman’s June 9, 2017 reboot/remake of the original 1932 classic.
Tom Cruise and Annabelle Wallis are currently filming The Mummy in Oxford, England as we previously reported. The location of the University of Oxford and Bodleian Library are seemingly doubling for a hospital in Thames. Apparently they are keeping the English location for the film. While principal photography has started, so far only Cruise and Wallis have been photographed on set. However, this week marked Sofia Boutella’s first day of filming as well but expect much of her role to be kept under wraps literally and figuratively.
Universal Monsters Universe is very excited for The Mummy and we can’t wait to see more of this production. It’s going to be a lot of fun and, as Imhotep said in the 1999 modern classic – “Death is only the beginning.” In this case, these set photos are only the beginning so stay tuned for more.
The Mummy opens June 9, 2017. It’s directed by Alex Kurtzman, from a script by Jon Spaihts. The Mummy stars Tom Cruise, Annabelle Wallis, Jake Johnson, Marwan Kenzari, and Sofia Boutella as the iconic Universal Monster.
