Set pictures from ‘The Mummy’ have surfaced revealing our first look at Dutch actor Marwan Kenzari in a still as-of-yet unrevealed character.

Filming on Universal’s upcoming reboot of the 1932 classic The Mummy has stepped back outside for on location work after spending some time at Shepperton Studios. Filming has taken place in the U.K., with production expected to move to Namibia for the months of July and August. This past week has scene the production filming at The London Museum of Natural History and the woods in Surrey.
While we’ve seen several on set pictures of Tom Cruise and Annabelle Wallis, the majority of The Mummy cast has yet to be seen such as Jake Johnson and the actress behind the iconic creature and title role – Sofia Boutella.
However, in the recent set pictures that have shown a sequence of people fleeing The London Museum of Natural History, most places have naturally focused on stars Tom Cruise and Annabelle Wallis. Yet visibly pictured alongside Cruise and Wallis is Marwan Kenzari. The 33 year old Dutch actor, listed as Variety’s “International Star You Should Know” in 2014, was cast in the Alex Kurtzman directed picture back in March of this year.
In keeping with the secretive nature of the plot, it has still been unrevealed as to whom Marwan Kenzari is playing, but from the looks of the set photo it seems likely that he’s working alongside the characters Tom Cruise and Annabelle Wallis plays.
Marwan Kenzari also has key roles in Terry George’s The Promise starring alongside Christian Bale and Oscar Isaac; and MGM’s Ben-Hur retelling, which stars Jack Huston.
He is repped by ICM Partners and Janey van Ierland at Nummer19 in Holland.
“Tom Cruise headlines a spectacular, all-new cinematic version of the legend that has fascinated cultures all over the world since the dawn of civilization: The Mummy.
Thought safely entombed in a crypt deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient queen (Sofia Boutella of Kingsman: The Secret Service and Star Trek Beyond) whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension.
From the sweeping sands of the Middle East through hidden labyrinths under modern-day London, The Mummy brings a surprising intensity and balance of wonder and thrills in an imaginative new take that ushers in a new world of gods and monsters.”
The Mummy is directed by Alex Kurtzman, from a script by Jon Spaihts. The film stars Tom Cruise, Annabelle Wallis, Jake Johnson, Marwan Kenzari, Courtney B. Vance, and Sofia Boutella as the iconic creature now revealed to be an ancient queen. The film opens June 9, 2017.
