This Week On ‘Penny Dreadful’ – ‘No Beast So Fierce.’

No Beast So Fierce

Ahead of this week’s episode of ‘Penny Dreadful’, UMU takes a quick peak at episode 6 – “No Beast So Fierce.”

“No Beast So Fierce” – airs 6/05/2016

Vanessa turns to old friend Ferdinand Lyle for help, who introduces her to Catriona Hartdegen, a new ally. Meanwhile, Lily, Dorian and Justine put their plan in motion; and Ethan, Sir Malcolm and Hecate arrive at Jarod Talbot’s ranch.

In last week’s episode of SHOWTIME’s Penny Dreadful – This World Is Our Hell“, we finally meet Ethan’s father, Jarod Talbot.  Played brilliantly by veteran actor Brian Cox, the third season of Penny Dreadful has expertly played up the sincere gothic literature and Universal Monsters angle of the series.  Fans of both the films and literature upon which many of the characters have been based will certainly find something entertaining in the hit series.

In this week’s episode, “No Beast So Fierce”, we get an exciting background on Dracula as Vanessa’s latest ally, Catriona, reveals the classic backstory that reveals his Ottoman background while in human form on earth.  Let’s not forget that Penny Dreadful has envisioned Dracula as Lucifer’s brother.  He’s also referred to as “the first vampire” which is also pretty cool.

To make things even more interesting, “No Beast So Fierce” shows us that Vanessa turns to Dr. Sweet and confesses that a creature has been hunting her; a creature named Dracula.  The fun moment for the audience and fans?  Dr. Sweet, unbeknownst to Vanessa, is Dracula!

While we all wait to watch this week’s episode of Penny Dreadful, please enjoy the three clips from tonight’s episode courtesy of SHOWTIME.  And make sure to stay tuned for UMU’s episode review of “No Beast So Fierce.”

Penny Dreadful airs Sunday nights at 10 PM ET on SHOWTIME.  Check your local listings.
