Universal Monsters Universe has just discovered an image on social media which has revealed the name of Annabelle Wallis‘s character in 2017’s The Mummy.  While we knew she was playing an archaeologist, not much was revealed after that until now.

Annabelle WallisAccording to an instagram post of a set chair, Annabelle Wallis’s character is named Jenny.  It confirms an unofficial leak dating back to when the movie was first announced.  In numerous set photos, she can be seen alongside Tom Cruise who seems to be dazed and disoriented.  While we know who the actors and actresses will be playing as far as roles, this is the first revelation into the actual name of any of the characters aside from Dr. Jekyll who will be protrayed by Gladiator star Russell Crowe.  Tom Cruise’s character was rumored to be ex-military serviceman Tyler Colt but there has yet to be a confirmation regarding that rumor.  Joining Tom Cruise in military roles are New Girl’s Jake Johnson as a soldier and The People vs. O.J. Simpson’s Courtney B. Vance as an Army colonel.  Together, they will be fighting The Mummy played by Star Trek Beyond‘s Sofia Boutella.  Aside from filming The Mummy, Annabelle Wallis currently stars on BBC’s Peaky Blinders.  Aside from the star-studded cast, The Mummy also had some great behind-the-scenes talent as well.

The film will be written by Jon Spaihts and directed by Alex Kurtzman.  Kurtzman, along with Chris Morgan, was named to helm not only The Mummy but an entire Monsters Universe of films.  Spaihts will be writing Van Helsing as part of the universe as well.  This will encorporate the classic monsters in intertwining films much like Marvel and DC have done with their movies.  Brian Tyler has been named composer for the film and is sure to bring some good music to the fold.  The Mummy is shaping up to be a summer blockbuster already.  Stay with Universal Monsters Universe for up-to-date and breaking The Mummy and Monsters news.

The Mummy is directed by Alex Kurtzman, from a script by Jon Spaihts.  The film stars Tom Cruise, Annabelle Wallis, Jake Johnson, Marwan Kenzari, Courtney B. Vance, Russell Crowe and Sofia Boutella as the iconic creature now revealed to be an ancient queen.  The film opens June 9, 2017.
