ReedPOP & NYCC Announce “NYCC Presents”!

ReedPOP & New York Comic Con have announced “NYCC Presents”, a new fan celebration taking place during October 2016’s New York Comic Con.

The team here at Universal Monsters Universe has a major announcement to make.  You’re probably wondering what ReedPOP and New York Comic Con news is doing on a Universal Monsters themed site.  This past May, the good folks at ReedPOP approved us for press passes for their upcoming 2016 New York Comic Con.  Along with several other great media sites, Universal Monsters Universe will be among the selected groups to attend the four day event, attend panels & screenings, and meet with numerous talent across film, tv, and comics.  We’re very excited and while this won’t be the first time for UMU’s Joe and I, this will be the first for us as Universal Monsters Universe.  We’re incredibly grateful to ReedPOP for this opportunity as standards are kept very high and so it’s our pleasure to report on the first of many exciting events planned for NYCC.

Every year ReedPOP’s New York Comic Con gets bigger and bigger.  Last year NYCC surpassed San Diego Comic Con in regards to attendance numbers and the show actually expanded to venues outside of New York City’s Jacob Javits Center.  This year marks the debut of NYCC Presents, ticketed events throughout NYCC week that will “will keep the party going in New York City by bringing passionate Fans to various venues all over Manhattan and Brooklyn such as the Hammerstein Ballroom, Hudson Mercantile, Rock Bar NYC and Littlefield.”

“NYCC Presents is the result of two amazing years of immersive and unique Fan events around New York City through New York Super Week. The demand for more content has extended beyond New York Comic Con and this is an opportunity to provide additional programming to Fans that might not have been able to get Tickets for NYCC.  We want to give our Fans the greatest experience possible and give them as much content as we can, while also providing opportunities to see other parts of the city.” – Lance Fensterman, Senior Global Vice President at ReedPOP.

Taking place between October 3-9, 2016 – the initial list of NYCC Presents events are:

  • Game Grumps Live Episode – SOLD OUT
  • A Shipwreck Fan Fiction Competition
  • Stuff You Missed In History Class Live
  • Doctor Who Costume Contest and Trivia
  • Tales From the Toybox
  • Rock Comic Con
  • One Trek Mind Live

Please know that even with New York Comic Con badges that have been validated and active, tickets must still be purchased for each individual event that you plan on attending.  While this is just the initial list of NYCC Presents events, be sure to follow NewYorkComicCon.com/NYCCPresents for more on event details, talent, and sponsors involved.
