halloween 2016

It’s October 1st which means it’s basically Halloween. Here’s how Universal Monsters Universe will be celebrating the month and what you could look forward to seeing.

halloween 2016It’s the start of a new month, and not just any month – it’s October 1st, and this is Halloween!  All of us at Universal Monsters Universe are very excited to be celebrating the classic monsters in a spook-tacular way.  This is our first Halloween and we have several fun things planned content and event wise that we hope you all will enjoy.

UMU’s Rob will continue his weekly column of “Sunday’s with…” and the theme for the month of October will be the Universal Monsters films from Dracula to The Invisible Man.  Taking a look at the library of classic monsters, “Sunday’s with…” looks to be an exciting way to close and begin each week for all of you that enjoy the original films.

Starting each Monday, we’ll be hosting a new weekly series called “Monster Mash Monday’s.”  Every week, starting on October 3rd, we’ll be looking at one of the original installments in the Universal Monsters library starting with “Werewolf of London.”  “Monster Mash Monday’s” concludes on Monday, October 31st and we have some monsterous sized fun planned for that day.

Aside from our continuing coverage of television series like From Dusk Till DawnAmerican Horror Story: My Roanoke Nightmare, and Van Helsing, every Friday will serve as a bookend of sorts to our “Monster Mash Monday’s” with “Frankenstein Friday’s,” which we’ll see us go through the various films featuring the Dr. and his monster.

Team UMU will be in attendance at New York Comic Con on October 6 through the 9th.  We’ll be covering the four day event and we already have some exciting people lined up for interviews, along with various films and television shows that we’ll be featuring. (See Hulu’s Freakish)

halloween 2016Most likely our most exciting news is that we’ll be co-sponsoring and co-hosting a screening of Dracula and Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein near the end of the month at Nitehawk Cinema in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.  For more information, you could visit our Facebook page and/or Nitehawk Cinema.  Once again, we’re partnering with Royal Collectibles to present some really cool giveaways of the Universal Monsters so if you’re in the New York area, we hope you’ll come to the screenings.  The team will be there and we’d love for you to say hi.

We could not be more excited for the month of October and this year’s Halloween.  It’s going to be quite special with every bit of monster mash fun, witchy love, and classic Universal horror in store for everyone.  As always, we’d like to thank everyone that has continually supported and followed us here and across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Tumblr.

Happy October to all of you boo-tiful monsters! Enjoy, be spooky, and be well from all of us at Universal Monsters Universe.
