Battle For Survival with Lanard’s “Kong: Skull Island” Toys!

Ahead of Toy Fair 2017, the first images of “Kong: Skull Island” toys have been released.

There is no denying that 2017 is the year of the monsters – good, old, big screen monsters. Ahead of June’s The Mummy release, monster fans will first be seeing Kong: Skull Island in March. The film, directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts, is a re-imagining of the classic Universal picture and is now set in the same world as Gareth Edwards’ 2014 Godzilla. It’s an exciting time for classic screen monsters fans and if there’s one thing we’ve been hoping for more than seeing the King of the Monsters clash against the King of Skull Island, it’s toys!

Ahead of Toy Fair, taking place in New York City next month, and courtesy of Idle Hands, we have our first look at the upcoming line of Kong: Skull Island action figures, playsets, and vehicles by Lanard.

I love action figures and I could not be more excited for these Kong: Skull Island toys. The 90’s were a great time for monsters fans, especially with the resurgence of Universal Monsters. We also had Kenner producing now iconic toys from Jurassic Park and Trendmasters epic line of Godzilla figures. While the monsters aren’t as predominant on toy shelves anymore, it’s exciting to see that Kong: Skull Island is getting a wave of both monsters and human figures. Much like Kenner’s Jurassic Park assortments that featured both the dinosaurs and adventurers.

Lanard, most recognizable for their The Corps! brand that dates back to 1988, looks to bring the same sensibilities of that line to Kong: Skull Island. While the first wave of Kong: Skull Island only includes the likes of Tom Hiddleston’s Capt. James Conrad and Samuel L. Jackson’s Lt. Col. Packard, it would not be surprising if we see Brie Larson’s Weaver considering Lanard just added the “first military female figures” to their The Corps! line.

While there is no solid release date for Lanard’s Kong: Skull Island toys, fans could expect to see them “hitting stores mid-February,” according to Paul Nicholasi of Idle Hands.

Every year LANARD continues to innovate new products bringing fun and enjoyment to kids of all kinds… even the big kids! Alongside the evolution of our products, it has introduced new versions of its own CORPS!® range of action figures and story line, brought uniqueness to its Outdoor art-based Chalkie™ line of products, as well as further expanded our customer base to a wider global market. LANARD has transformed the way it designs and innovates through organized workflow and a creative strategy which further reduces our development time.

We truly desire to consistently bring our fans and customers great, lasting products each and every year. Let us reflect on some of our accomplishments and company milestones that have made an impression on us throughout the years.
