Check out the latest Behind The Scenes video for “The Mummy.”

One of the most widely anticipated of scenes in Alex Kurtzman’s The Mummy is the zero gravity plane sequence. The scene first came to the attention of fans last December when the first trailer was released. With just under three months to go before The Mummy is awakened in theaters and IMAX, Universal has released a brand new look at the zero gravity plane sequence that you could view below.

If this scene looks exciting enough to be made into a ride, that’s because it has. Premiering during SXSW (South by Southwest), The Mummy Zero Gravity VR Experience aimed to place attendees right in the middle of the madness. While reviews have said that The Mummy Zero Gravity VR Experience did not replicate the feeling of being weightless, many have said that it was still “very entertaining in its own right.” While there has been no mention of The Mummy Zero Gravity VR Experience touring, it would not be surprising is this were to tour during opening weekend of the new film set as the first chapter in the Universal Monsters Universe of films. Expect places like The Grove in Los Angeles and AMC Loews Lincoln Square 13 to be host to The Mummy Zero Gravity VR Experience in the coming months.

As always, stay tuned to Universal Monsters Universe for the latest on The Mummy.

Tom Cruise headlines a spectacular, all-new cinematic version of the legend that has fascinated cultures all over the world since the dawn of civilization: The Mummy.

Thought safely entombed in a tomb deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient princess (Sofia Boutella of Kingsman: The Secret Service and Star Trek Beyond) whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension.

From the sweeping sands of the Middle East through hidden labyrinths under modern-day London, The Mummy brings a surprising intensity and balance of wonder and thrills in an imaginative new take that ushers in a new world of gods and monsters.

The Mummy is directed by Alex Kurtzman, from a script by Jon Spaihts, Dylan Kussman, and Christopher McQuarrie. The film stars Tom Cruise, Annabelle Wallis, Jake Johnson, Marwan Kenzari, Courtney B. Vance, Russell Crowe and Sofia Boutella. The film opens June 9, 2017.

Great BTS video! Maybe an indicator that something is coming really soon?

    • I’d say so! From what we know, the trailer should be debuting on or around April 7th. The marketing and major push should be starting in the next few weeks.

      • This was a great behind the scenes video! I hope the actual sequence in the movie is WAY longer than what we saw in the first trailer. I wish the marketing for The Mummy had been more consistently promoting the movie ever since that first trailer, but I expect that we’ll get consistency shortly after the debut of the next trailer…..as in new things to look over every week up through June 9, 2017.
