Scoring has begun for “The Mummy” in London.
With just under three months until its release, scoring has finally begun on Alex Kurtzman’s The Mummy. Taking place at the legendary Abbey Road Studios, Brian Tyler is currently recording his Mummy score with the Philharmonia Orchestra for the first film in the Monsters Universe of films, out June 9th. It’s a unique privilege to present this news as UMU was the outlet to land the exclusive that Brian Tyler would be composing the film last year.
Tyler is no stranger to cinematic universes as he previously worked with Marvel Studios on Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, and Avengers: Age of Ultron. He even went on to compose the Marvel Studios and the Universal Pictures theme (following in the footsteps of Jerry Goldsmith).
Brian Tyler is one of today’s most inventive and most original musician’s and he also goes under the artist/stage name Madsonik. He wrote and produced the song “Shell Shocked” with Kill the Noise, Wiz Khalifa, Ty Dolla Sign, and Juicy J. It could not be more exciting to have Brian Tyler as the composer for Universal’s The Mummy and he will certainly deliver a score that is not only worthy of continuing the grand tradition of Universal Monsters films, but also re-introducing it to modern audiences today.
Make sure to follow Brian Tyler on Instagram to keep up to date with his work, along with the occasional tease of current projects like The Mummy.
