Look into Ahmanet’s eyes in the newest poster for The Mummy!
Yesterday was CinemaCon in Las Vegas where the who’s who of movie companies and actors show off their upcoming projects with teasers and interviews where they share never-before-seen or heard stories about these projects. Universal presented the cast of The Mummy along with an all-new trailer set to be released very, very soon. While we wait, Universal has given us a new poster starring the main monster herself, Ahmanet.
Sofia Boutella looks absolutely amazing as Ahmanet and this is the first up-close view the public will have of her until the movie. Movie and Mummy fans will get to see the amazing work of makeup artist Elizabeth Georgiou who, along with her daughter Bella and a talented team, turned Sofia Boutella from an Egyptian princess to vengeful mummy. The poster is dark and sinister which evokes the horror theme of the movie. We see her split pupil which has shown up in the first trailer and will morw than likely show up in the next one as well. Remember to stay tuned to Universal Monsters Universe for everything monsters and The Mummy.
Tom Cruise headlines a spectacular, all-new cinematic version of the legend that has fascinated cultures all over the world since the dawn of civilization: The Mummy.
Thought safely entombed in a tomb deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient princess (Sofia Boutella of Kingsman: The Secret Service and Star Trek Beyond) whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension.
From the sweeping sands of the Middle East through hidden labyrinths under modern-day London, The Mummy brings a surprising intensity and balance of wonder and thrills in an imaginative new take that ushers in a new world of gods and monsters.
The Mummy is directed by Alex Kurtzman, from a script by Jon Spaihts, Dylan Kussman, and Christopher McQuarrie. The film stars Tom Cruise, Annabelle Wallis, Jake Johnson, Marwan Kenzari, Courtney B. Vance, Russell Crowe and Sofia Boutella. The film opens June 9, 2017.
