The cast and crew of “The Mummy” will be heading down under for a May 2017 red carpet premiere!
Following the debut of two new trailers, one online and one during AMC’s season finale of The Walking Dead, Universal has just announced the first stop for the worldwide promotional tour for The Mummy. Stars Tom Cruise, Sofia Boutella, Annabelle Wallis, and Russell Crowe have been confirmed for the first international stop in Australia. The Mummy will receive it’s down under, red carpet premiere at the Sydney State Theatre on May 22nd. There is no word yet on how fans could attend, but I’d recommend keeping an eye out for contests that should be held sometime later this month.
While no other cast members have been confirmed, we would expect co-stars Jake Johnson, Courtney B. Vance, and Marwan Kenzari to be in attendance, as well.
Syndney, Australia is only the first international stop for the cast and crew of The Mummy. During press day a few days ago, director Alex Kurtzman confirmed a Mexico premiere for his Universal Monsters film. Additional premieres will be held in Asia, the United Kingdom (where most of principal photography took place), Europe, and the United States.
As always, stay tuned to Universal Monsters Universe for the latest on The Mummy.
Tom Cruise headlines a spectacular, all-new cinematic version of the legend that has fascinated cultures all over the world since the dawn of civilization: The Mummy.
Thought safely entombed in a tomb deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient princess (Sofia Boutella of Kingsman: The Secret Service and Star Trek Beyond) whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension.
From the sweeping sands of the Middle East through hidden labyrinths under modern-day London, The Mummy brings a surprising intensity and balance of wonder and thrills in an imaginative new take that ushers in a new world of gods and monsters.
The Mummy is directed by Alex Kurtzman, from a script by Jon Spaihts, Dylan Kussman, and Christopher McQuarrie. The film stars Tom Cruise, Annabelle Wallis, Jake Johnson, Marwan Kenzari, Courtney B. Vance, Russell Crowe and Sofia Boutella. The film opens June 9, 2017.
